Thomas D. Bumgardner grew up in his father’s law firm offices. “I remember as a little kid watching my dad work with people who came in the office crying or just out of the doctor’s office,” says Thomas. “My dad had a way of listening and understanding people’s stories on how they were injured or how their relationship had fallen apart. I knew that I wanted to be a lawyer from a very young age.”
After earning his undergraduate degree with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Thomas attended Stetson University College of Law to pursue his dream of being a lawyer. He earned many honors in law school, including the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award and the William F. Bleus Pro Bono Service Award. Thomas was a member of the Stetson Law Review and the Stetson Moot Court Board.
Since graduating, Thomas has experienced great success in his law career. He has served as an attorney of record in numerous complex civil matters and has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients. He is currently a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Thomas is married to his high school sweetheart and has three girls.
